Honorary Consul, Denzil D. McKenzie

Denzil D. McKenzie migrated to the U.S. in 1968 and has lived in NYC, Amherst, Massachusetts, and Boston, Massachusetts He has been an attorney in the Boston Legal Community since 1976. His practice includes serving as outside counsel to small and mid-sized businesses and non-profit organizations engaged in technology, health care, human services, and over forty religious congregations. He is a well-recognized advisor and legal counsel to businesses throughout New England, and is often named as a private mediator of commercial disputes. He lectures extensively on corporate law, taxation, probate, and business topics in programs sponsored by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Inc.

Attorney McKenzie is a graduate of Boston University School of Law, where he also studied tax law in the Boston University Graduate Tax Program. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with a B.A. in Political Science/Economics. Attorney McKenzie is a member of numerous professional  organizations including the American Bar Association, Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inn of Court where he served as President, 2013-2014. Mr. McKenzie also served on the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Client Protection, treasurer of the Clients Security Board of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, Treasurer and the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association of Boston University School of Law, President of Cambridge Family and Children Services, and Vice President, Burlington Cable Access Corporation.


Attorney McKenzie is the recipient of numerous awards, including the U.S. Small Business Association’s Minority Business person of the Year (with William V. Benjamin); runner-up for U.S. Department of Defense Minority Supplier of the Year (with William V. Benjamin); and the Chancellor’s award for Service to Massachusetts Public Higher Education, and Life Time Achievement Award, Black Law Student Association of Boston University School of Law. In October 2002, Boston Magazine named Attorney McKenzie as one of Boston’s best lawyers and again in 2004 and 2006.


Attorney McKenzie is a member of the Bars of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the First United States Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. His practice includes Business Law, Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation in all courts, Probate and Estate Planning.
